Regular Volunteering

As part of our School Development Plan, we are looking at ways to help support the children further in basic literacy and mathematical skills. There are a number of additional programmes the school can use to help support children, but we are in need of dedicated, regular volunteers to help deliver these programmes across the school.

Below you can find details of some specific programmes we train volunteers to run.  For each programme you can see the minimum amount of time you would need to commit to in order for that programme to make a difference to children’s learning.

One to one support for developing fine motor skills

Years 1 and 2

15-30 minutes,

minimum 3 days per week

15 Minute Box

One to one support for developing speech, language and communication skills

15 minutes every day, minimum of 2 days per week

Numicon for Number Bonds

One to one support for developing basic mathematical skills

Year 1

20 minutes, minimum 2 days per week

Cambugs

One to one support for developing early reading skills

Reception

15 minutes every day, minimum of 3 days per week

Volunteers for French Lessons

We are also looking to recruit bilingual French speakers who may be interested in volunteering to support our French lessons in Key Stage Two. These lessons take place every Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon.
